Military bases and installations that don’t have the ability to send out satellites or other equipment are not affected by the weather events, said Col. Scott Besser, a spokesman for the Pentagon’s Joint Operations Command.
“The vast majority of those facilities are in good shape,” he said.
Bessner said the Joint Operations command was in contact with the Defense Weather Service about the snowstorm.
“We’re monitoring the situation, and the Joint Weather Center is providing the best information possible,” he added.
The Pentagon is also working with the National Weather Service to provide updates to the public.
